Hey Jim and family, Best wishes for what we know will be a strong recovery. I have just assisted a family friend through cancer of the larynx and in terms of diet it sounds like you are on the right track! Both myself and my close friend found the below website very useful in giving information on a natural cancer preventative and treatment through the food we eat. http://www.b17.com.au. (if you haven't found it already). It talks about the benefits of having vitamin B17 in your diet (a naturally occuring selective anti-cancer vitamin). I hope that this info can help and again best wishes and God speed your recovery. Adrian Elsworth and Rachael Paterson

Dear Jim and Nancy, able to connect with both of you through my sponsor Linda and my mentor Daisy have been the greatest gift for me all these years. Nancy, your quote “when things happened, it happened for us not to us” has helped me embraced many challenges. I believe this episode is happening for us for a special reason and it’s a good reason. Jim, your Six Point Program not only works for our business, it works for me when I applied it to bring my health back on track. I believe your Six Point Program will works for you too. Jim and Nancy, I wish both of you great health and Merry Christmas.

Rosemarie Eitel, Germany wrote on December 22, 2010 at 9:37 PM:
Dear Jim, as I read about your issue and journey a report from some years ago came to my mind. It was about a man from Nuernberg, Germany, a husband and father, who was very ill with cancer. The specialists had surrendered and gave him only a few more weeks to live. But he could not accept it. He had a strong faith and was convinced that there were more plans on earth for him. So he started to talk to his cancer: "You can only survive when I will live. If you kill me, you will have to die, too. The best for both of us can only be that I will live." Within a short period of time the man was healed completely, the doctors really considered it as a miracle. We are with you and we wish you and Nancy and all your loved ones the very best! Blessed Christmas from the Eitel family

Dear Jim, Nancy, Heather, Eric, Dave and Jules...This "invader" is not an individual enemy but one that brings a family closer together and to their knees....and thank God for that! The gates of Heaven are being stormed with prayer for total healing, courage, strength. love and laughter for you and your family. With all that you are doing you will be stronger (the new model) when you have walked thru this. Remember the Bible clearly tells us what to do...."Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."...so dear precious Friend, keep walking with our precious Savior as your companion. God loves you and so do we. See you soon back in Atlanta rejoicing in victory! Merry Christmas Don and Bobbie

Jim, I know you have tens of thousands of soldiers around the world fighting and praying your behalf, and I want you to know that you have one of your biggest "Prayer Warriors" here in Chicago! You have heard it and seen it many times I am sure, but you are truly one of my heroes Jim. A hero because of the consistency of your faith, your commitment to serving others, and ability to maintain a positive and expectant attitude regardless of the circumstances you are presented with. Your enduring faith in our Lord, your commitment to your friends and family, and your acceptance and example of being a servant leader and thinking of others even in moments where most would be self-focused, are yet a few of the qualities I admire about you Jim. I want you to know that if you or any of the Dornan family needs any help or assistance while you overcome this recent opportunity for growth, all you need to do is ask. In the meantime, please know that you are continually in mine and my family's prayers, as well as many of my friends and my other Prayer Warriors around the Willow Creek community. You will conquer and overcome Jim. God has many more plans for you still here in your earthly life Jim! So let's overcome this obstacle and get on with the next chapter already! Deal? Love Ya My Friend, John

Dear Jim, Just want you to know that Ruth and I have you in our prayers. We are very confident that you will overcome this challenge and have even more widsom at the end of this journey, to share with others. The word cancer is scary, but I think a more appropriate term is concern - knowing that we must meet the challenge and take care of it. And, you, of all people, will meet and conquer that "Concern". We are hearing wonderful things about MD Anderson, which increases our confidence in that you will overcome this challenge in your life. You and your family are in our personal and family prayers along with our Amway Family Prayer Chain. We are confident that God will answer these prayers and you will have a full recovery. It's still amazing to us, all the wonderful people that the Amway business has brought into our lives, forever changing our paths. Unforgettable people like Bill Nicolson...and where would we all be without Rich and Jay...and then you and Nancy brought N21 into our lives. Your influence on our lives and business has been tremendous and you have enriched our lives in ways that we didn't believe were possible. Jim, we love and respect you and wish we could lighten your burden. We pray for Nancy and you to have the strength to stay strong and to remain positive. Our prayers are with you and your family during the holidays and in the months to come...just know that we are all confident that you will be successful in this battle! God bless, Love, Stan and Ruth

Jim and Nancy, I have not known what to say since I walked those halls of MD Anderson. Knowing the power of the medical staff there and the power of the positive attitude that all the staff we dealt with had, I shed a tear of Joy knowing you were there. I pray for all of you daily and know you are enjoying the beauty in each of the fish tanks that I sat and watched --- sometimes for hours. I continually proclaim you are whole without the invader and pray for the medical team that is working with and through the hands of our Lord and Savior.

With your faith and all the prayers being offered for you, this I do know, God's healing energy is flowing through your body, rejuvenating and renewing every cell of your body. You are well. Dear Jim and Nancy, Our thoughts are with you in your amazing journey of life. We are also on a similar journey and feel so grateful for the "lessons" we have gained from the n21 system. We have learned to be grateful for everything we do have and have gained such strength from that......thank you to you and especially Nancy for teaching us that, we are so blessed! Ingrid Peskops statement "just for today I will be brave" is one that gets me through the days of treatment and when my mind looks too far into the "unknown". Also, Skip Ross' "happiness is a choice" is so true....its amazing how much joy is available even through tough challenges in life. Thank you for being such an amazing leader. Have a Merry Christmas (even the diet isn't so appetising!).

Jim & Nancy, After having sent you my previous email regarding the chemo sensitivity testing on your cancer...and then reading about all the "big guns" and resources you have around you, I felt like the little drummer boy who only had his little lamb to offer the baby Jesus...but with each "gift" given (or piece of advice or suggestion on how to approach total healing and recovery), no matter how great or how small, it needs to be prayed upon to ask for guidance from our heavenly Father and let Him show you the right path according to His will for you…as you said, He is truly the One in control of all of this. I offer this information to you as another piece of the cancer puzzle – something you may want to explore to see if it fits or makes sense for you…and knowledge is power…but when all is said and done…we need to look to Him for our answers and solutions and ask Him to show us the way according to His plan…as Jesus prayed in Gethsemane “Let it not be my will, but your will, oh Lord”...or..."Thy will be done, not mine." I will keep you both in my prayers because the road ahead is not an easy one…but with God by your side and your faith and trust strong, you will make it to the other side of this journey victoriously. With Blessings to you both, Jann Youngs Landess 949-289-5268 PS: Brad has been married for 11 years to a wonderful woman whom I adore... and I have two beautiful granddaughters, Alexandra (8) and Sofia (5). He was originally diagnosed with Prostate back in the early 80's and given 6 months to live. If that had been the case I would have never even met him. His faith and God's grace brought him through the original diagnosis and treatments, and even the last few years of his life when the "invader" had returned he always told everyone and anyone who would listen that he was there because of God, and because he had a positive attitude and followed Dr.'s orders. Even though you don't really know us, we love you and your family so much for what you have done for our lives, and the lives of our uplines, who have passed this wisdom on to us. We are truly different people because of what we have learned in this business from Network 21 and I must say, John Tesh said it best in his song at NALC... "we love you Jim Dor-nan... we love you Jim Dor-nan! (and Nancy)." 🙂 Thank you for my daily dose of positivity. I will continue to look at your website for info and strength. HE definitely isn't finished with you!! (And neither are we.)

Dear Jim: My heart absolutely sank when I read the news of your frightening health challenge. Frankly, I had to read the email several times to be able to grasp the devastating news. I couldn't believe my eyes. On October 25 of this year I lost my beloved husband, soulmate, love of my life Jon to a health challenge not related to cancer. We were newlyweds of just a little over three years (September 1st, 2007) but have been part of the Network 21 family as individual IBO's since 1996. In fact, he was my original sponsor. Now, in both of our names, I am sending you prayers of hope, love and concentration for your full recovery. You have been and are an inspiration to thousands across the world as our trusted leader, mentor and friend. Throughout the years you have strongly guided us to seek a better life, not just for ourselves, but to reach out to others to offer them the same opportunity. I sincerely send to you Nancy and your beautiful family my strongest prayers and well wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Thousands of us across the world know that we are so very, very lucky to be part of the wonderful N21 family. We know that with Gods hands you will be here to lead us in the many challenges we face in the future. Get well, be strong and keep the faith! Dear Jim & Nancy, A voice from the Amway past, Jann Youngs - my son, Brad, & Heather were "taken with" one another years and years ago. Jim, I am so sorry to hear about your challenge...but I know your faith and trust in God's grace will get you through to victory. My sweet husband, Scott, is currently fighting the "battle" as well and we have walked the path that you are now on. Nancy, be sure to add some garlic and some tumeric to that beautiful array of veggies that you are juicing...good in fighting the cancer. If you would like to talk about any of the things that we are following to fight the cancer and build the immune system, do not hesitate to call. I would also like to share with you a doctor we found in our journey (I believe that he was devinely lead to us) that has helped my husband have a fighting chance at survival. His name is Dr Robert Nagourney, his company, Rational Therapeutics, his cause to attack cancer with FDA approved drugs that are tested against your particular tumor in your particular body. The tumor is tested against various chemo "concoctions/formulas" and then observed to see which chemo treatment will actually kill your particular cancer. It is specialized and personalized for you to give you the best chance at stopping and killing this deadly and debilitating disease. Prior to finding Dr Nagourney, we, with our oncologists, were just "trying" different chemos that had been used against the type of cancer that Scott had...only to find that in Scott's case, they were not effective against his tumor....the tumor did not shrink, it grew while his body was being "slammed" with the chemo regimen he was on. We were at the end of the road with "known" chemo choices and were told to put our affairs in order. That was not an acceptable answer for us because we are fighters - just like you both are - and we were unwilling not to try everything in our power to turn the situation around...and in steps Dr Nagourney. I would encourage you to go to his web site and read about a "rational" way to attack this deadly disease. www.rationaltherapeutics.com Read about him and his long history of helping people get successful results. You may want to go the home page, then the patient page, then the drop down tab media, then the TV interviews he has had over the years to get a quick overview of how he approaches the fight against cancer. I know you, Nancy, are probably already scouring the internet for answers...this may be the one you are looking for. I am sure you are going to MD Anderson, since you are staying in Houston...and they have many great answers...but you must also be your own advocate and ask God for guidance and best answers that will cure Jim with the least impact to his body....you owe it to yourself to see if this might make sense for you in your journey to rid Jim of cancer. Again, please call me if you have questions, I am here to share with you what we have found to be the best shot for us at getting rid of this horrible disease. With love and many blessings to you, both, Jann Youngs - Landess

Dear Uncle Jim Dornan (as a young adult building the business, you have always been an 'uncle' who I grew up listening to on the CDs) I was shocked to hear the news from my parents but even more so when I read your first update. It is unbelievable to think the amount of positivity and hope you have, no matter what God has dealt your way. Its inspiring to hear your outlook on how you are dealing with this 'test' from God. Its a learning point for me to not give up on smallest obstacles that come my way. My family and I know that just like with Eric, the Dornan family together will persevere through this and will be seen smiling at the end because of this amazing 'adventure' (as you put it) that has begun We will be constantly praying and hope to see and hear from you bringing good tidings. A few years ago I was honored to serve Jim as translator during a speech of one of his German leaders. I was sitting next to him, memorizing every moment as a reference for my own behavior. I listen to his teaching for many years now and took it for granted, newer thought about him not being around anymore. It is a wakeup call for all of us, I suppose. Jim, you will overcome the challenge and grow stronger than before and finalize the process to keep the strongest leaders united with a unique kind of loyalty - I could not find anything like it in history yet. The stability we have in our business can be tracked down to what you have initiated many years ago. Thank you for sharing your spirit, wisdom, experience, inspiration and challenge with us. Sometimes, the sacrifice for the next step, although you might have taken it into account, hits you like a stroke, you fell down, weeping, crying, praying - but cannot change it. Until many years later you realize, that many lives were saved because of this sacrifice. When I came home and my children told me: “Papa, mama is dead” I have not been prepared – but the system installed by you and your team was in place and I have had the privilege to listen to some of the tapes of Jim & Nancy Doran, in the System for Success, given to me by leaders you personally know by now, Rosemarie and Herbert Eitel. You have empowered many leaders and attracted leaders from all kinds of professions and I feel secure in this community, because you and Nancy translate thy word into action. Once you told, about the question you will ask, when you are about to go home – if would be allowed to give the answer, I would say: At least for me, Jim and Nancy have saved my life, my second marriage, the young life of my children, has blessed my family relationships and I am grateful for the impact his family example has on us.

Dear Jim As newbies who have never met you, yet have grown to love the calming and nurturing tone of your voice as you help us start our journey, we would like to add our prayers for your recovery and trust that these and all the messages you receive, sooth and support you in return as you are being challenged. Many of us have also experienced the shock of cancer, the pain of the treatment, the joy of remission and even battles lost. It is wonderful to savour each additional day gained to love, share and celebrate our faith. We pray also for those dear and near to you – your family, friends and support team. They will be affected in many ways. May our Lord strengthen and bless you all as you take up this new challenge.

Jim, Just read your inspiring 1st update. As you say in it, it is about trusting God and allowing Him to lead and work in our lives. A poem by John Piper, Pastor for preaching @ Bethlehem Baptist in Minneapolis, MN, and a prayer that has blessed me I want to share with you follows: God’s Sovereign Sustaining Grace Not grace to bar what is not bliss Nor flight from all distress but this The grace that orders our trouble and pain Then in the darkness is there to sustain. Author: John Piper Resting on God O God, most high, most glorious, the thought of your infinite serenity cheers us, for we are toiling and moiling, troubled and distressed, but you are forever at perfect peace. Your designs cause you no fear or care of unfulfilment, they stand fast as the eternal hills. Your power knows no bond, Your goodness no stint. You bring order out of confusion, and our defeats are your victories: The Lord God omnipotent reigns. We come to You as a sinner with cares and sorrows, to leave every concern entirely to You, every sin calling for Christ's precious blood; revive deep spirituality in our heart; let us live near to the great Shepherd, hear His voice, know its tones, follow its calls. Keep us from deception by causing us to abide in the truth, from harm by helping us to walk in the power of the Spirit. Give us intenser faith in the eternal verities, burning into us by experience the things we know; Let us never be ashamed of the truth of the gospel, that we may bear its reproach, vindicate it, see Jesus as its essence, know in it the power of the Spirit. Lord, help us, for we are often lukewarm and chill; unbelief mars our confidence, sin makes us forget You. Let the weeds that grow in our souls be cut at their roots; grant us to know that we truly live only when we live to You, that all else is trifling. Your presence alone can make us holy, devout, strong and happy. Abide in us, gracious God. Believing with you all the Promises of God and praying for you and your family a extra measure of Peace and Comfort and a speedy and total healing and restoration.

I was introduced to the N21 world a long time ago through your voice speaking about a fly trying to reach the light and freedom and this ended up giving me a new perspective on life. Many years I’ve heard your voice and absorbed your wisdom, kindness, humor and enthusiasm. In September this year it was such a joy to hear you in Budapest at the Go Diamond seminar and as I said, we are blessed to have you as an example of dedication in this business. I was speechless when I heard the news about the cancer that invaded you, but I am sure that with God’s will, we will see you and hear you soon on the N21 stages sharing your experience of this terrible journey with us. People will be so happy to have you among us again. We all need you as a person, business man and true friend. My team and I are praying daily for your recovery and for your whole family. We are sending our good thoughts and love to all of you. We hope that the warmth of the holidays and our spiritual closeness to God during this time will help you recover faster. God bless you and help you with everything you need in this journey. We love you, respect you, admire you and most of all need you in our journey. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

TO Our Dearest Beloved FCA Jim & Nancy Dornan & the entire Dornan family! We have absolute Faith in Him that your journey to recovery is planned out! To others when they are 'rudely interrupted' by illness, it's common to see bitterness, regret & anger... when we read your First Update...i can only feel excitement that you refer to this chapter of your life as 'an adventure' and so optimistic & am only filled with Hope & Joy that our Leader sees himself 'to be emerging as an improved version'! What an oustanding attitude! I've just learnt from EDC Fathiah yesterday that true personal Success is not looking at the efforts of our work...but the ability to CONTROL our thoughts, emotions & feelings... Am always in awe when we hear you speak at Go Diamond or on your CDs...and now in your updates..how calm and in control and clear your thoughts are! This reminds me WHY we have chosen to be associated to N21 and more importantly the Leadership...and although we are not Diamonds yet... We are so sure in our hearts that this is the group of Winners & Champions that we want to be part of for the rest of our lives. Because of your Leadership through N21, we feel that we know you...one of my Dreams is to meet you in person as a Diamond! We pray for your 'smooth adventure' and that you will 'arrive home' safely! We are proud to be associate to your Leadership & organisation...we cant wait to see you at June Go Diamond 2011! Much love & gratitude PP

Dear Jim, Nancy & Family ~ Thoughts and prayers are with you as you embark on this journey... know that many friends are in it with you. I am honored to be a prayer warrior for you. "This little arm, what can it do? But that eternal arm, what can it not do? This tongue, how feebly can it speak; but the voice of Him who spoke as never man spoke, how persuasively can it speak? Our spirits, narrow and limited, what can they affect: But His unbounded Spirit, what cannot He perform? Oh! Let everyone here who has been serving his Master, bid farewell to everything like a discouraging or desponding thought. The great army of God is not defeated; it never can be, in the long run it must conquer. And even those parts of the divine strategy of our great Commander which looked like retreat, are only portions of His perpetual victory. He is fighting on, and will win the battle, even to the end! C.H. Spurgeon "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" Psalm 46:1 May all of the blessings of Christmas be yours.

Dear Jim, The love and leadership, the light, that you and Nancy have poured out into the world for decades is just barely beginning to be reflected back in these initial entries. The entries from around the world evidences that it is not governments, but people with love in their hearts that will bring peace to the world. So we all fervently pray that this journey is but one short chapter in your life's book with multiple, longer chapters to follow. Love, D & N (By the way, when I mentioned your diagnosis to my brother, MD Anderson were the first words out of his mouth. Hopefully his comments re green tea also prove helpful).

Dear Jim and Nancy, our prayers are with you. You both have inspired me spiritually since the Hays organization joined with you. I would always thank God for your faith. KJV, II Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Thanks for the Maxwell study, I now work with the Ministry of Sick at my church, a blessing. I wanted to share with you a poem I wrote for my husband after his passing in 2000 as it can truly pertain to what you and Nancy have done for me and the many thousands of lives you have touched both business wise and more importantly to people like me, spiritually. Endless Wave - I walked to the pond today because somehow being in or around water soothes me. It was so cold to the touch, yet still soothing. When I ran my hand back and forth, there was a wave that continued across the pond from my touch. My loneliness is more vast than the ocean and reaches beyond the moon. Oh my love, my darling soulmate, even gone you have sent all of my senses to their apex, You touched my heart and soul as if it were a pond, and the beauty of our oneness shall ripple throughout my being endlessly. Copyright 2001 Jim, you and Nancy are vessels of the Lord, and through trials and triumph give Him glory at all times. It shows in your countenance. Thank you for the strength and purpose, love of family and friends that only a person with the love, peace and joy of God can show to others. While you and Nancy are granted time on this earth, and even after you both change in the twinkling of an eye, I am most grateful for the experience of the ripple effect of your lives through serving Christ has touched me. I too have an esophagus issue that has to be watched closely and have lost 9 family members, 3 generations on Dad's side to cancer. Love and prayers. Janet & Rich

Dear Jim and Nancy, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Reading your update is another reminder of the incredible change of direction our life has taken since we were handed a tape (!) of yours for the first time almost 10 years ago. We are so blessed by the lessons we have learnt through our association with N21 since, one being, that sometimes the biggest gift comes in a “brown paper bag”. Your words, that “We must use all that God offers us to win” and your expectancy to be “more useful for God’s purposes” are a powerful prompt again for us to apply this for ourselves as much as you are, because whether or not one is battling an “invader” of any sort right now, this is our mission over all! Thank you for sharing your journey and reaching out to the world at this time as you always do. May this Christmas bring you the joy of a loving family that draws close to you and may you find strength in the knowledge that you have a “large family” out there in the world that stays close in prayer, thought and good wishes. God Bless!

Jim and Nancy, As I begin to write I am reminded of the story of Esther from the Bible (I'm sure you are familiar with it) and in particular where her uncle Mordecai encourages her to speak to the king on behalf of her people. "And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?" (Est 4:14, NAS) We may not always understand God's plan or how we fit in it. But there is strength and comfort in knowing and believing that He HAS a plan and in trusting His wisdom that by it, He will be glorified in us. So to you I say, 'who knows whether you have not attained so much success for such a time as this?' You and Nancy have spent a lifetime interceding for so many; may we now return the favor. God bless you as He continues His work in you and through you to fulfill His mighty purpose. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim, You continue to amaze me. The leadership you show by having the courage to be totally open and transparent about your condition, and the spiritual depth in facing this challenge in faith models for all of us the path we may follow later if need be. Two of the greatest influences in my life were mentors who shared their real life challenges with those of us who were their students. One pastor lost his daughter to leukemia and invited us to share his struggle to appreciate the power of God's presence. As he said , "We minister more from our weakness, because God is our strength." You are showing us how to triumph. We will pray for you and cheer for you on this journey.

In Jesus' name, we will continue to humbly yet boldly pray unceasingly, for the Lord to protect you and strengthen you even more as you go through one of your finest hours; and claim with you, your victory in His glory. With much love & respect, Rojan & Jo-Anne
